Living Adventurously at Charney Manor

Street Meeting organised a residential on the theme of Living Adventurously at Charney Manor this February.  It was held from Tuesday 17th to Thursday 19th February which was in half term.   26 people attended, this included four children.  The programme was facilitated by Roger and Mavis Iredale of Long Sutton meeting.  We are very grateful to them and to those who helped with childrens sessions, evening sessions and all the practical arrangements.

A full report of the event including the workshops has been circulated via Holy Knitting and sent to participants.  A shorter report has been included in our March Street Meeting newsletter.  Detailed notes have been compiled to pass on to future organisers.

We feel that it was very successful and the formal and informal feedback we have received suggest this.

As well as Roger and Mavis from Long Sutton LM, Chris Stotesbury and Margaret Derret from Wincanton LM came as participants.  It led to lots of positive communication between meetings and arrangements for  future collaboration.

Also lots of communication with those who attend Wells meeting.  A number of other people from AM were interested in coming and would hope to come to a future event.

We feel that it was very successful and has enriched the life of the meeting.

The formal and informal feedback we have received also suggests this.

We are proposing a discussion at May Local Meeting about a future residential in 2016 or 2017 where we will have a chance to discuss what aspects of it we wish to take forward and to set up a structure to support taking it forward.

Jane Wilson for Charney Planning Group

Charney Planning Group comprised Jane Wilson, Janet Morland, Tony Habgood, Margaret Chapman, with Sheila James, Mike Kellaway  and Roger and Mavis Iredale also assisting.
