Gaia is an 8 foot tall puppet created by members and friends of Street Quaker Meeting. This collaborative project became our expression of concern for the Earth, the climate crisis and how our local area will be affected in the future.
The cloak she wears depicts a map of Somerset, showing how the rising sea level and increase in rainfall will cause large areas of land to be flooded.
You are welcome to come to see Gaia at Street Quaker Meeting House where she is on permanent display. We sometimes take her out for a walk.
