A warm welcome to Street Quaker Meeting! We are always open to new enquirers and visitors. Feel free to ask us any questions you may have about Quaker worship. Our best advice is to simply come and try it! We gather for silent worship for an hour from 10.30am every Sunday. If you would like to bring your children, please contact the warden on 01458 446 360 or email [email protected]
After Meeting for Worship we always share a drink together and on a monthly basis we work in the garden, hold a bring and share lunch and host discussion groups.
If you would like join us online you can use this zoom link below. Bear in mind we practice silent worship, so make sure your microphone is muted throughout the Meeting. If you would like to share ministry, un-mute to speak, then please mute yourself again when you have finished.

OUR CALL FOR PEACE
The members and attenders of Street Quaker Meeting are very concerned about the ongoing violence in Gaza. We have been moved to compose the following letter which we have sent to our MP.
We are writing as your constituents with alarm at the escalating violence in Gaza and the West Bank following the October 7th. Attacks by Hamas and the subsequent Israeli military RESPONSE. The former killed 1,400 Israelis and in Gaza, as of November 6th, over 10,000 Palestinians have died as a result of bombing. Nearly half of these last were children.
While the international community is rightly united in recognising the October 7th. Attacks as horrific violations of international law, we are deeply concerned, too, about the potential war crimes now being committed by the Israeli government. This includes collective punishment and the failure of all parties to adequately protect civilians and civilian institutions such as hospitals. Last week over 300 eminent British lawyers shared their concern with the British government, stating unequivocally in their letter that international law is not being upheld (http://lawyersletter.uk).
The violence is not taking place just in Gaza. The UN reported on 1st. November that, since October 7th, more than 128 Palestinians, including 35 children, have been killed in the West Bank. More than 2,000 have been injured and nearly 1,000 people have been forcibly displaced by Israeli settlers and military personnel.
We feel sure that you share our abhorrence at these crimes. As Quakers, we are committed to values of peace, justice and equality; we feel impelled to speak out when these atrocious acts of violence are being committed.
We are asking you, therefore, to speak out publicly and ask the Foreign Secretary to call for the following;

- An immediate ceasefire and release of all hostages,
- The immediate facilitation of aid into Gaza,
- An end to state-backed violence against Palestinians in the West Bank,
- An immediate halt to weapons exports from Britain to Israel, given that they might be used to violate international law, and
- A just end to occupation of Palestinian territory in line with international law, so that Palestinians and Israelis can live together in peace and security
